I’m looking for some advice or opinions on where to travel to January/February. It will be just my girlfriend and I. We are both in our late 20s if that matters. Our past travel usually involves walking around the city exploring with less set plans but I’m open to having more planned activity based travel if we do something that requires it.
Looking for: - want to visit 2-3 cities in 7 days + 2 travel days from LAX in late January/early February - Prefer 3-4 days per destination for bigger cities, 1-3 days for smaller - Hoping to do 2 of the options below. Ideally pretty different from each other. Flights between them ~2.5 hours or less - We like nightlife (specifically house/techno/raves type stuff) but don’t need it in both places. Ideally one option would have some fun nightlife - Budget not super strict but looking for cheaper destinations ideally. Willing to do one cheaper and one more expensive - Safety is important for South/Central America as we will likely be out late for nightlife
Here is my admittedly very long list of options in no particular order:
Europe: 1. Eastern Europe - krakow, Bucharest, Zagreb, Warsaw 2. Greece - Athens, santorini, Mykonos 3. Madrid/Portugal 4. Popular tourist destinations - Venice, Paris 5. Germany/Austria - Vienna, Munich, etc. 6. Wintery places - Swiss alps, ?
Americas: 1. Central America - Costa Rica, ? 2. Columbia - Medellin, Cartagena, ? 3. Brazil - rio, ? 4. Argentina - Buenos Aires, ? 5. ?
Places we will not go to for this trip for various reasons: - Rome, Florence, Barcelona, Berlin, Budapest, Prague, Amsterdam - Asia/Middle East/Australia/Africa - Mexico, USA, Canada
Favorite past travel destinations: - Berlin, Prague, Amsterdam
Important things to note: - Flight price not an issue - I will potentially be proposing to my girlfriend during this trip somewhere - We are from a place with basically no winter season and are not accustomed to cold weather. In addition, it has been clipped down to a weight of 22.35g - this could have been to make change or for deceptive purposes. PENDING

1636-47 Potosi 8 Reales cob, Assayer TR - let's start off with an 8R cob oozing with history. This piece has a Chinese chopmark and a multitude of test cuts from its time circulating in East Asia. In addition, it has been clipped down to a weight of 22.35g - this could have been to make change or for deceptive purposes. PENDING
1701 Potosi 4 Reales cob, Assayer Y - well this is just a really nice cob. Original surfaces, sharply struck, only circulated lightly. A great type coin for the 4R Potosi pillars-and-waves cob. $349
1728 Lima 2 Reales cob, Assayer N - a 2 Reales cob with very nice detail, on a wonderful planchet... but someone holed and probably gilded it. A wonderful necklace or treasure chest piece. PENDING
1690 Potosi 1 Real cob - a cob that truly served its purpose in circulation. Not too often you see them worn down this much... or this affordable at just $59
1855 Chile Condor Peso - an ever popular and tough type coin featuring the iconic Andean condor with wings spread. Interestingly, many were found on the SS Central America, attributed to Pasqual Esquerra, a Chilean passenger. This one isn't from the Central America, but it is a beautiful original and honestly circulated piece. $175
1763 Danish West Indies 12 Skilling - yup, even Denmark had colonies in the Caribbean. This iconic piece features a clipper ship and the 1763 is a tougher date for these to boot. $79 ON HOLD

Se que no están muy a favor de la gentrificación de Barcelona y lo entiendo porque Costa Rica esta muy parecido. Pero de igual manera agresivo su ayuda :)

There's the well known vacation places... Tulum, Cancun, Barcelona, Ibiza, etc. This shouldn't even be considered travel because you are in a bubble they created for you with no idea of what their culture is really about.
Then there's the well known digital nomad places... mexico city, medellin, rio, buenos aires, lisbon.
But the more popular a location gets - the more the prices increase, the women get worse, and overrall the appeal of why you left america is not so appealing. For example, now in medellin the airbnbs are on par with any tourist destination or even US places like miami. Then come busloads of 20+ guys on a bachelor party tearing up the town and women like costa rica. When the cities become las vegas they go south quick. The normal women will also avoid you because they will clump you in with the sex tourists and dont want to be seen around town as a girl with someone like that.
Passport bro's/nomads became a thing to escape vacation locations and to go to lesser known spots where things are in your favor. I've been to cities where the people have never even seen an american in their life, let me tell you, it is amazing. But now, people continuing to flood the nomad spots has made these locations unfavorable for you.
We should be focusing on the next locations that are not well known, this is where people will be hearing about in the next 3-5 yrs but you'll already have your feet planted and have a real advantage.
For example, cities like santiago chile, quito, pereira and cali colombia, etc. If there are no instagramers there, the weather is good, city population i s a good size, prices are low, that is where the gems are. It is like business, if you are reading about it in the newspaper then you are late to the game.
This is the info that makes the nomad networks valuable.

I previously resided and worked on the US, my mom lives there as well. But I didn’t really liked the lifestyle and culture of the country. So I’m seeking options on how to move to Europe from Latin America. As my best friend moved to Vienna 4 years ago and has been telling to move. So after a lot of tough I decided to give it a shot.
I have over 6 years experience in IT, Helpdesk, Development, and Deployment. Experience with HTML, CSS, JS, ReactNative, Next.Js, and a little of Node and Express. I also know a little of Python for scripting. As well as leading teams and experience in customer facing-roles. Nothing too outstanding
I currently work for a pharmaceutical company, they have operations in Basel but I’m based on Costa Rica. The internal transfer to other countries or the EU are not that common, and they barely open internal applications for these positions.
So I tough on start applying to other EU based companies from Costa Rica directly. I know there’s a law in Europe where recruiters should prioritize hiring Europeans. But has someone from Latin America had luck with moving to any country in Europe with work permit visa or sponsorship? I have the means to move and stay a couple months for myself. My issue resides in the work permit, would I be able to work in other areas such as retail or customer service while I get a work permit to work in my area?
Or should just start applying to companies on Glassdoor and LinkedIn and wait for a sponsorship offer?
I would appreciate comments or suggestions from Latinos that have successfully migrated to Europe. My preference would be be Barcelona but any other European country will work me as well as I’m just aspiring for a better life quality.

Don't know if anyone really has the answers, but heres some experiences and questions I would like to share. Sorry it turned into a novel
The emotional world is a strange place. I am still trying to figure it out and Im on a very cliche journey around the world to find love lol, and I have had wildly varying experiences.
I went to Costa Rica a few months ago and made some of the best connections with some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Nobody could get enough of each others company, we had so much fun! Made great friends, hooked up with some awesome people. Best time of my life hands down.
Right now, however, I am currently on my way back home from Barcelona, and the experience there was pretty bad, to say the least. It felt like the entire city was in a giant sex club that I wasn't invited to. I had plenty of fun partying and exploring the city on my own, but when it came to social connections, it felt like I couldn't make any headway anywhere. I would strike up regular conversation (with no alterior motives) with someone where I was staying, and they would then proceed to avoid me the rest of the night.
One of the staff members there, on the other hand, who was dating one of the other staff members... became friends with, and hooked up with just about every girl that walked through the door. This guy gave off some pretty scummy vibes when I was around him, bragging about each girl he had sex with that was staying there. Made me so confused as to why these girls immediately jumped on what I would consider to be one of the uglier guys there. Not trying to be judgemental, just speaking objectively here.
Just to be clear, my priorities are not hooking up with people. If it happens, then awesome! But friends and good times are first. But, even though it isn't a priority... it still kinda hurts knowing that everyone around you (literally everyone sleeping in the same room as you) is hooking up with someone else there or someone from the club, and nobody will even give you the time of day. I even had a random girl come up to me on the street and ask me "why I was so ugly"?? Like wtf. Sure, I am skinny, but thats because I am a rock climber so I stay on the lean side... but I am definitely not ugly.
Maybe because I am too friendly? Or maaaaybe, my priority should be hooking up because that was the culture in that area? It was so odd being in a position where nobody wanted to talk to me or hang out with me in any way, least of all make out with me in a club or something...very isolating, it felt like high school all over again.
But then! I ran into one girl from Poland who asked for my number and hasn't stopped wanting to talk to me since she met me. Blowing up my phone with hearts and such. I can't tell if she is hitting on me or if she is just communicating differently being from another country and doesn't speak english very well.
Needless to say, my journey is not complete haha. I am so lost 😅

Soy Chileno 🇨🇱 y estoy planeando un viaje de 7 días a Costa Rica con mi amiga Estadounidense. Siempre he escuchado cosas buenas de Costa Rica! Y me encantaría conocer el país. Sin embargo, pregunté en otra parte de reddit y me dijeron que tuviera cuidado en Jacó. La verdad es que con mi amiga nunca hemos estado en Costa Rica 🇨🇷 😕 Entonces, no sabemos TODO. La verdad es que elegimos a este país como un punto de encuentro para juntarnos y pasarlo bien unos días ya que yo vivo en Chile y ella en USA.
Lo que queremos hacer es visitar los parques nacionales, hacer hiking, sacar fotografías y visitar las playas.
Pensábamos en ir a Jacó ya que da la impresión de que hay playas bonitas y los parques nacionales están cerca! ¿Es verdad lo que me dijeron de Jacó? Deberíamos ser cuidadosos y tomar precauciones? O no es tan malo como dicen? Por cierto, soy un hombre normal y no consumo drogas y tampoco me interesan las prostitutas! Realmente no le hago a eso.
